Finally it's in production! I think The Rum Diary is Hunter S. Thompson's finest work. And I've been waiting for this movie to be made ever since I read the book. It will star Johnny Depp as Paul Kemp (Thompson) when he goes to Puerto Rico to write for a local newspaper and of course that usual Thompson madness and philosofy will occur. Johnny Depp did amazing work portraing Thompson on Fear&Loathing In Las Vegas, so this will definetly rule.

When the summer comes in Finland, it turns the minds of Finnish people completely sideways and it has some unusual effects on the behaviour of Finnish people when they mix that mindset with alcohol, sometimes it can happen abroad when weird Finnish men and women come to relax somewhere where there isn't snow, wet, darkness and -10degrees.

"Police were called out to a bar on Soi 8, Central Road in the evening of the 4th April to investigate a report that a drunken tourist was disturbing the peace. Officers went along and found Finnish expat Olli-Jaakko Turumen (44) from Helsinki in a very drunken state, serenading customers at a number of bars. Well, it was actually more of a sere-nude as our Olli was not only trying to sing but was also attempting to perform a striptease act in the middle of the road. For showing off his talent the appreciative crowd of bar girls cheered as he was covered up and invited by officers to take a visit to the police station to cool off and sober up."
