Alan Lomax Sound Catalog

"The Sound Recordings catalog comprises over 17,400 digital audio files, beginning with Lomax’s first recordings onto (newly invented) tape in 1946 and tracing his career into the 1990s. In addition to a wide spectrum of musical performances from around the world, it includes stories, jokes, sermons, personal narratives, interviews conducted by Lomax and his associates, and unique ambient artifacts captured in transit from radio broadcasts, sometimes inadvertently, when Alan left the tape machine running. Not a single piece of recorded sound in Lomax’s audio archive has been omitted: meaning that microphone checks, partial performances, and false starts are also included. This material from Alan Lomax’s independent archive, begun in 1946, which has been digitized and preserved by the Association for Cultural Equity, is distinct from the thousands of earlier recordings on acetate and aluminum discs he made from 1933 to 1942 under the auspices of the Library of Congress. This earlier collection — which includes the famous Jelly Roll Morton, Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly, and Muddy Waters sessions, as well as Lomax’s prodigious collections made in Haiti and Eastern Kentucky (1937) — is the provenance of the American Folklife Center at the Library. Attempts are being made, however, to digitize some of this rarer material, such as the Haitian recordings, and to make it available in the Sound Recordings catalog. I feel like this right now.
The feeling comes when you have to do something in 3 days... something that should require at least 1 month. But as you bravely dive in to the deep, you just might survive?
The point is... I'm extremely busy right now, so sorry that I haven't been posting anything!
I composed 5 new demo songs in 1 night 2 nights ago. They will probably be the basis of my new EP.

Also I'm back in Facebook after almost 2 years of quitting it... sad... depressing... or is it?
I noticed that in a country small like this hellhole Finland, Facebook is actually brilliant tool for telling everybody about your gigs and pointless albums. So I'm sorry everybody (zero people) for joining my revolution of quitting Facebook or as we call it here in Helsinki... FACEBUKKAKE. So add me as friend! You can find me with my super secret alias... MC ShakkiMatti! And I only post Finnish posts, because all of the above...and it is my super crappy joke rap project also! So...

EYEBALLS
For some reason I've been avoiding writing stuff from my personal life here in my little blog... Maybe because my personal life was hell in the end of 2011!
Well anyway... sun is shining now in the world of Shakki! I'm in love and I'm rocking naked in my apartment.
The picture above is from today when I was coming from EYE DOCTOR. She put eye-drops on my eyes that made my pupils look like... well... exactly that. So I had a lot of fun sitting in a train and eyeballing old ladies who looked at me like I was some kind of weirdo! Maybe I am, but I am a good weirdo with no bad intentions!
She told me that my eyes are perfect and so did my physiotherapist about my ankle!
I also started a driving-school! In 1 month or so I will have my driver's licence! Finally! I have never needed a driver's licence in Helsinki before, but now because my projects and work/school related stuff demands a car... I'm getting into the world of mechanical machines of ROCK! Music sounds so much better when you are driving, doesn't it?
I wish you all a beautiful upcoming spring. If you ever come to Helsinki, write to me and I will show you around! I'm serious. I'm a weirdo in a good way! Not in any creepy way!
